Philosophy
Learning to love words has been one of my favorite lifelong pursuits. I first noticed words as a very young child while sitting on my mother’s lap as she read me picture books from the Parent’s Magazine Press monthly book club. I’d memorize the phrases and analyze why certain words sounded so ideal together. As I practiced writing through elementary school, I tried to achieve the same magical read-out-loud sentences that inspired me at age four and five. Over time, I realized words are not just letters strung together; they are living, vital things that wield incredible powers of imagination, creativity and vision. Being a writer is the realization of a childhood dream. As I write, my highest intention is to welcome readers to love words along with me. |
